On November 10 seventy-five people showed up at Napper Tandy’s here in Walpole to hear two priests answer questions. We called it Pints with the Pastors and I am here to tell you it was a huge success. The event was organized was done by Janet Neubecker, who works in our office at Blessed Sacrament. Many others assisted her, of course, and many staff members came to participate or show support. Father Matt Westcott of St. Mary’s in Foxboro was my “cohost” and we took turns giving our answers to the many questions proposed by the audience. Certainly I did not expect 75 people to show up for our first crack at something like this so to say I am pleased with how it went would be an understatement. The crowd was pretty diverse too, with some older folks to middle-aged folks right on down to the younger generation. We even got some young folks who were playing pool to stop and take notice.
We didn’t get to all the questions and we tried to answer a cross-section of them so we could have a wide-ranging discussion. Overall I’d say we were very satisfied with the whole evening and our friends at Napper Tandy’s were very generous with the free pizzas they put out for us to enjoy. They were gracious hosts to us and I hope they did a little profit for themselves as well! We will do more of this type of event in the future and if you want to be involved in this type of outreach ministry please let us know. You can email me at
FrChip@matt13catholic.org and we’ll get you connected into this wonderful ministry. It was great to partner up with Saint Mary’s in Foxboro and Fr. Matt and we hope to continue working together in the future on this and hopefully other things as well. In the interest of full disclosure, Fr. Matt and I are very good friends and we enjoy each other’s company, so in a lot of ways it was a fun night for us too! Keep looking at the bulletin, our web sites, our email newsletters, and our social media to see when future events will happen. Many blessings!
